Gastronomic career
Alexander Winkler, born and raised in Munich - Schwabing.
Alexander Winkler has been running the Residenz Winkler gourmet restaurant with cahrm and the highest level of expertise since 2012 - at that time still alongside his father.
He discovered his passion for gastronomy early on in his parents' buisness, where he gained his first valuable experience in service. From 1997 to 1999, he completed his training as a hotel specialist at the renowned Hotel Traube Tonbach in the Black Forest. Back at the Residenz Heinz Winkler, he perfected his skills as deputy head waiter before joining his father's kitchen in 2006. As Chef de Partie Saucier, he immersed himself in the art of „Cuisine Vitale“.
His talent for excellent service and his love of fine dining then took him to renowned establishments: first as restaurant manager at the Waldhotel Sonnora in Dreis near Wittlich, then as deputy restaurant manager at the Restaurant Garden in the Bayerischer Hof in Munich and finally as restaurant manager at Restaurant 181 in Munich's Olympiaturm.
Today, Alexander Winkler is not only the perfect host, but also managing director of the Residenz Winkler – with an extraordinary flair for enjoyment, hospitality and culinary delights. His love of exquisite wines makes every menu a unique experience.
